    Electricity Maps' Grid Modelling & Methodology team's purpose is to deliver the best digital representation of the grid, worldwide. The team is looking for a Student Developer / Data Scientist to continually improve the quality of the data that Electricity Maps offers.

    About you:

  • Have a background in data science, data analysis, or software development.
  • Like to work within a team environment but are able to complete tasks autonomously.
  • Are comfortable working with version control (git) and Python code.
  • Have an interest in working with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, data scientists, and other energy experts.
  • Are looking to grow and learn in a challenging role.
  • Possess an intrinsic motivation to have a positive impact in the world.
    How you will contribute to our mission:
  • Improve the our ingestion pipeline by investigating and correcting outliers in our data streams
  • Ensuring our methodology for calculating carbon emissions remains accurate and up-to-date
  • Help maintain the open source parsers we use to collect electricity data from around the world
  • Participate in an EU research project
