Om Xifu Liang:
Hello,
I am writing to apply for position as a senior scientist.
I am from China (now Danish citizen) and graduated from Shenyang College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in 1982. Then, I took a job in the then largest Chinese pharmaceutical company, Northchina Pharmaceutical Corporation (NCPC), which produces antibiotics, and had worked there in several research projects for semisynthesis of antibiotics as a process chemist for 8 years. In 1991, I was bestowed a scholarship by Chinese Education Committee and had worked with Professor Prinzbach, Universität Freiburg, on total synthesis of antibiotics for one year. Thereafter, I had worked with him as assistant for 6 years. Professor Mikael Bols, department of chemistry, Aarhus, offered me an opportunity to pursue my PhD. Armed with knowledge and skill I learned in Prinzbach’s group, I finished my PhD in less than 3 three years and published 12 scientific papers and 2 reviews.
Since Jan 2002 I had worked as a chemist in LEO Pharma and been involved in many different projects (more than 30 publications and patents or patent applications). Several compounds were in clinical trials. One compound I have designed, ingenol disoxate, is now in Phase 3 clinical trial.
I had worked as a chemist for over 40 years and still have passion for chemistry. II am skilled, creative, hardworking, and optimistic person with can-do attitude. I am also cooperative, and dependable. I have sound IP knowledge. Since I have worked in three countries, China, Germany, and Denmark, I also have a lot of international experience to work with different ethnic people.
LEO Pharma reorganised R and D division and decided to close the internal discovery labs, therefore, I am laid off like many other colleagues in LEO. I am now interested in trying some new challenges. I am convinced that my track record can fulfill your requirements for a Senior scientist.
Sincerely Yours
Xifu Liang
