Om Muthana Aldulaimi:
I am a senior forensic pathologist in the Iraqi medical directorate in Baghdad since 2007.I performed 700 to 800 proper autopsies cases per annum during the civil war, dealing with the natural and the violent causes of death [suicide, homicide and accidental]and generates written reports of the autopsy findings to the police and judicial department and I was frequently asked to give expert witness testimony at the court. In addition, I was dealing with clinical forensic cases such us sexual assaults, age estimations, allegation of torture …etc. In 2010 I was appointed as the director of the mass graves team in the Iraqi medical legal directorate and I signed about 5000 anthropological reports for the identification of missing person in collaboration with the international commission on missing person(ICMP) .I was selected by Abu Dhabi police between 2011till 2018 as medical examiner (Crime scene pathologist) and I attended around 1000 crime scenes per annum ,dealt with all the cases of death happened outside the hospital(almost 700 external autopsy and 300 full proper autopsy) .In the beginning of 2019 started my carrier again with Iraqi medical legal directorate in Baghdad as a forensic pathologist specialist performing autopsies of different mode of death and the cases of clinical forensic medicine cases. In 2020 I became a member and supervisor in the Iraqi board for medical specialisation in histopathology and forensic pathology for post-graduate studies and lecturer in college of medicine university of Baghdad and al-Anbar for undergraduate studies, in addition to my consultant post in both clinical forensic medicine and forensic pathology. I also work in cooperation with physicians for human right which is a US-based not-for-profit human rights NGO that uses medicine and science to document and advocate against mass atrocities and severe human rights violations around the world.
