    About the Role

    Automotive is your native language and based on the Harman Automotive product solutions you want to shape the product integration of tomorrow to create the future of holistic in-car end-user experiences. With your vehicle-level architecture and technical knowledge and expertise, you are an ambassador for the hardware and software integration of Harmans cross-domain Automotive products.

    As our system engineer for in-vehicle integration, you are working close together with the systems lead and architects in planning and documenting the hardware and software integration and revision control, as part of this you will be the key stakeholder supporting the fabrication team during the physical in-vehicle installations, system bring-up, software and system testing of the Harman Automotive products.

    What You Will Do

  • As part of the creation of cross domain Automotive engineering and experience assets, you will be leading the physical hardware and software in-vehicle system integration of tomorrows Harman Automotive products.
  • Take part in the design and incubation of innovative vehicle networking and gateway product and technology concepts
  • Own, drive and document the physical in-vehicle system integration for Harman Automotive products, based on defined architectures and strategies
  • Establish industry benchmark for system integration principles and best practices
  • Closely collaborate with internal product and technology departments, architects, technology suppliers on relevant future technologies and product concepts as well as with relevant external partner companies
  • Plan upcoming in-vehicle system integration projects as well as running upgrades of existing assets and manage and document hardware and software revisions control
  • Support and guide the fabrication team in the hands-on in-vehicle system integration and vehicle build
  • Support strategic technology, innovation and architecture team initiatives
  • What You Need

  • Electrical engineering background
  • Understanding of automotive system integration or similar areas
  • Understanding of E/E system integration, body electronics, gateway technologies, high-speed networking, sensor and actuator interfaces and practical knowledge on vehicle network systems like Ethernet Switch, CAN bus gateways technologies and related protocols as well as network security protocols
  • +2 years of practical experience from cross domain system integration and coordination
  • Technical leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire people
  • Ability to work in the fuzzy front-end of pre-development R&D projects
  • Team player being able to work in a team with cross-domain members spread globally
  • Quality minded with high focus on creating seamlessly integrated world class end-user experiences
  • Structured and analytical thinking as well as ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to create instructions and specifications that guides the engineering and fabrication teams to create the optimum in-vehicle system components installations
  • Creative and innovative problem solver and ability to adapt to dynamically adapt focus
  • Self-motivated and willing to drive things forward
  • Organized and structured way of working to ensure high quality documentation
  • Quick grasp and ability to quickly get used to new topics as well as a high degree of flexibility
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills
  • What is Nice to Have

  • Experience from executing R&D) and innovation projects
  • Experience in electronics engineering within the field of automotive
  • Background and skills within multiple of the following areas: compute concepts, power distribution, EMC, functional safety, vehicle-level system dimensioning and partitioning
  • What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, domestic and international travel
  • This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN's sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
