- Direct and oversee the development activities related to the adhesive, sealant and coating area, including material selection, characterization, and testing.
- Evaluate and contribute to optimize the application and the production processes to ensure product performance, quality, and efficiency.
- Stay on top of the latest advancements in adhesive science and engineering within the field and provide strategic guidance to support product innovation and differentiation.
- Collaborate with various departments, including product design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of polymer technologies into product development and production processes.
- Establish and implement quality assurance protocols and standards for adhesive and sealants applied on products to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead projects from conception to completion, including defining project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, with a significant focus on sustainability, cost reduction, carbon footprint minimization, and performance enhancement through the application of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Ensure alignment across the VELUX value chain and escalate needed strategic decisions both in AMT (Advanced Material Technology) and across the value chain as well.
- Enjoy working with many different tasks / projects at the same time, primarily as consultant but also causing real impact where new ground is discovered.

Your challenges
As our new Lead adhesives and sealants specialist, you will be based at our Østbirk location, reporting into Kristian Møller (Director, Applied Materials within the Advanced Material Technology organization). Here, you will join an organization of people being lead specialists within their fields of expertise.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of use with adhesives and sealants discovery, development, and application within our organization. Your expertise in polymer science and engineering within adhesives and sealants will be instrumental in driving innovation, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our products. You will collaborate with specialists and interact with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective adhesive and coating strategies that align with the company's goals and priorities.
In this role, you will work within the following areas of responsibility:
This position requires 20-40 days of travel per year, mainly within Europa and occasionally overseas.
Your qualifications
To be suitable for this position, it is required that you bring minimum 5 years of industrial experience with adhesives/sealants (ideally 10 to 20 years of experience).
In addition, you have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a PhD in Chemistry.
Furthermore, you are fluent in English.
