    The position

    As Corporate Integrations Project Manager you will play a business-critical role in planning and executing on the Post Merger Integration (PMI) strategy for recently acquired companies in Novo Nordisk.

    You will be part of the Corporate Development – Integration & Strategic Alliance team. You wi ll pair up with the Integration Lead to support the planning, execution, and daily activities of live corporate integrations. You will work cross-functionally with key leaders from all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain, as well as leaders, stakeholders and employees within the acquired organization to ensure the value preservation of Novo Nordisk acquisitions. Additionally, you will take a leading role in the communications and change efforts associated with each integration to ensure that we realise the value of the initiatives in a manner that brings internal and external stakeholders along in the process.

    The main responsibilities are:

  • Act as an integral part of planning and execution of ongoing and future post-merger integration projects ( e.g. integration strategy design, operating model definition, Day 1 & 100 planning)
  • Manage Integration Management Office activities such as the creation overall integration workplans, identification of interdependencies between workstreams and communication with relevant (senior) stakeholders
  • Be a key player in building relevant communication skills internally in the team and through the company-wide integration network.
  • Support the change and communication perspectives for integrations, keeping workstream participants and other internal employees up to date regarding on-going integration progress and activities.
  • Help ensure operational excellence across all PMI activities.
  • Location will be in Denmark (Bagsværd) or US (Boston, MA) and up to 25% overnight travel is required to attend on-site meetings at the acquired company location and/or to engage with other Novo Nordisk units in various geographies.

  • Strong project management skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Proven track record in working on complex strategic projects
  • Prior experience with PMI from Corporate or Consulting
  • Ability to motivate others, and effectively manage multiple projects in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Firm understanding of how to effectively navigate a multi-national, matrix, organization and ability to work with leaders, peers, and colleagues at all levels
  • Team management experience (could be informal leadership) is considered an advantage
  • Track record with change management and communication (production) in active mergers and acquisitions and or integrations is considered an advantage
  • As an individual, you have an ambitious and proactive nature, coupled with exceptional organisational, communication skills and a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement.

    About the department

    The Integration & Strategic Alliances team is part of Corporate Development and is responsible for planning and managing all elements of post-merger integrations well as handling a complex portfolio of strategic external alliances across the value chain with focus on clinical and commercial stage and across therapeutic areas in Novo Nordisk.

    The team is involved in the Merger & Acquisition process from due diligence until a steady state run-of-business is achieved with the acquired company. The role this team plays is essential to Novo Nordisk Business Development activities as it has direct responsibility for ensuring that the value of a corporate acquisition is preserved and matured. Individuals working in the team must be adept at understanding the full scope of how an organization operates, have a mature cultural and emotional intelligence presence, and be able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
