    The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a AC bachelor within basic neuroscience as per 1st January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term (3 years) full-time for the first 8 months then transitions to part-time (10 hours per week).

English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The department employs approx. 500 people from all over the world, and they make use of the department's modern laboratory-, core- and animal facilities.     Your job responsibilities

    As AC bachelor, your primary tasks are to support animal experiment research and data analysis. You contribute to an ongoing project concerned with delineating the circuit and function of neocortex, through data acquisition and analysis. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.

    Your main tasks will consist of:

    • Support process of mouse brain surgery, behavioral experiment, and tissue clearing.
    • Develop new experimental approach for the project
    • Analyze data using open-source packages run by Matlab and Anaconda, including DeepLabCut, Brainreg, and AMaZiNe
    • Develop new analysis codes/function appropriate for the newly acquired data
    • Administrative responsibilities including presentation of progress in lab meeting

    You will report to the Head of Department.

    Your competences

    You have a background within basic neuroscience research with particular interest in understanding the circuit mechanism of learning and memory. You also have a track-record of using Anaconda terminal to run DeepLabCut and Brainreg, and Matlab-based app like BehaviorDEPOT and AMaZiNe for behavior and image data analysis. The prior knowledge of tissue clearing process is a plus.

    As a person, you are reliable, self-driven, and like to figure out the problem. You also have good interpersonal and communication skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.
