The maritime industry emits over 1 billion tons of CO2 annually, and up to 30% of it can be saved using the right digital tools. For ship owners, reliance on manually collected and analyzed data makes it difficult to optimize fleet performance in real time.

We are building an agnostic platform utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance the efficiency of global shipping. We deliver technology to enable shipping companies to minimize fuel consumption, maximize operational efficiency, and optimize their fleet performance. By arming ship owners and operators with real-time predictive decision support, Danelec is reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making global trade more sustainable.

ABOUT THE JOB

You will become an essential team member bridging Brand & Marketing, Product Management, and R&D:

• Securing a unified, user-centric customer experience across our digital products and customer-facing platforms.
  
• Design and prototype interfaces for mobile, desktop, web, and other platforms to meet the unique needs of our maritime sector customers
  
• Take part in user research activities to uncover key insights and identify opportunities for improvement, translating these findings into impactful concepts and designs ready for implementation
  
• Develop visual assets such as storyboards, scenarios, user flows, wireframes, design prototypes, and UI specifications
  
• Collaborate closely with both the brand and R&D teams to ensure the consistent implementation of design intent throughout the development process
  
• Contribute to product and company strategy and champion innovative approaches to solving the most important challenges for our customers
  
• Create and iterate on processes that tighten the feedback loop between our customers and users and the products we build
  
  

  WHO ARE YOU?
  
  

  We are looking for candidates who can embrace complexity and ambiguity. You think in systems and love to untangle complex problems, breaking down ambiguous feedback into clear, easily understood pieces for other teams. You also have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrable years of professional experience as a skilled designer spanning both UI and UX.
    
  • Superuser in Figma and able to translate a visual identity into tangible UI for our digital tools.
    
  • Proficiency in sketching, visualizing, prototyping, and testing service solutions at various stages of development
    
  • Project experience across different channels and platforms
    
  • Curiosity and interest in leveraging new technologies to enhance interactions and overall user experiences
    
  • You deeply value getting designs right, but also understand the importance of getting them out the door
    
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for generating innovative ideas and the determination to bring them to life
    
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive "here to help" attitude
    
  • Enthusiastic about an international role that involves travel activities
    
  • Excited about being a thought-partner to our company and customers, refining ideas, conducting research, and using your knowledge of software systems to curate potential opportunities. You understand the possibilities enabled by the systems you design for, but also their limitations

    WHAT WE OFFER
    
    

    As a UI/UX Designer at Danelec, you will first and foremost play an integral part in defining the overall customer experience of Danelec across all touchpoints. With base in our office in Bergen or our Headquarters in Farum just outside Copenhagen, Denmark, you will work closely together with R&D to dive deep into our digital services and define how our visual identity will translate into experience design. As part of the Brand & Marketing team, you will get to shape the visual language of Danelec's brand and act as the brand advocate and design lead, securing one cohesive experience across all platforms.
