    As an HV Senior Engineer you will be actively engaged in driving industry-leading technology activities associated with the electrification and hybridization of the marine and offshore industries.

    What You Will Do:

  • Lead research and assess the maturity of new technologies in a wide range of electrical engineering topics with the focus on marine hybridization and electrification.
  • Develop guidance and classification requirements for the marine and offshore industry on the application of new technology.
  • Support ABS technical community on queries regarding marine hybridization and electrification.
  • Maintain and demonstrate thought leadership through technical publications, conference presentations and panel discussions.
  • Participate in industrial committees to development and enhance technical capabilities.
  • What You Will Need:

    Education and Experience

  • Minimum of eight () years relevant engineering experience in a shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, vendor, university, or classification society
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other related discipline; is preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) Kv-Kv+ AC/DC systems
  • Knowledge of Offshore Wind HVAC and HVDC power generation and power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of HV Transmission, HV Substations, HV Cables, and HV AC/DC Converters
  • Knowledge of High Voltage technology application in Offshore Wind Farms
  • Support to Certification, Verification and Classification Proposals and Projects
  • Knowledge of IECRE requirements a plus
  • Knowledge of Marine AC and DC power generation and power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of System-Level Modeling and Simulation of power generation and power distribution systems
  • Knowledge of high-capacity energy storage systems above MWh directly interfaced to medium voltage AC ( kV or above) or DC (above kV) power systems, by modular approaches.
  • Familiarity of design, installation, and testing of electrical equipment such as electric motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, switchgear, and generator controls.
  • Strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent command of the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Reporting Relationships:

    Reports, as assigned, to a Managing Principal Engineer, Manager or Director.
