    Intra-Asia market is a critical element of Maersk Line APA Ocean Product, and current MSK Intra-Asia network is providing shipping services in 14 countries across Asia region, the most emerging market globally.     As part of the Intra-Asia Market Uptake and Optimization team, the person will be assigned Intra-Asia services and be accountable for the daily coordination between Market/Revenue management, local commercial teams, and Customer Delivery operations. In charge of vessel capacity planning, have alignment with commercial drivers and operational capabilities. Such will require a strong drive, result oriented mindset and ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders. We are looking for candidates who are not afraid of taking challenges and extracting value from complex situations.

    Main objectives: provide commercial demand forecasting, maximize vessel utilization, deliver service reliability, control cost factors, support trade and commercial drivers.

    Ability to balance commercial and operational factors is key to success in this role. Uptake and optimization function is the one who knows the booking (volume) pipeline well and provide uptake visibility to commercial teams designing rate strategies and sales tactics. The person will also lead assigned projects including seasonal planning, forecasting, transformation process improvement and others. As part of a team of 30 people, he/she will support colleagues with occasional back up planning and knowledge sharing, also contribute to keep the positive working environment in the team.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor booking (volume) and perform uptake via forecasting skills and internal tools.
  • Manage vessel space / allocations with the aim to improve utilization and Trade performance.
  • Execute space planning and execution process, including cargo transfer and prioritization.
  • Assist on development of seasonal network plans including rationalization or extra loaders.
  • Work close with Commercial teams for driving volumes.
  • Work close with IAS Marine Operation teams to ensure schedule reliability. Handle contingencies in case of operational constraints (i.e. port omissions, swaps, schedule delays, cargo overflows, etc.)
  • Work close with Stowage Planners on how to optimize vessel intake.
  • Prepare and maintain contingency handbooks to facilitate daily decision-making process.
  • Assist Trade Managers and Network Planning teams with inputs for services improvement.
  • Contribute with ideas to improve processes within the team and across departments.
  • Who we are looking for

  • At least 03 years of experience at similar position(s) in Line operations, vessel planning, capacity, commercial or yield management.
  • Native Vietnamese level, fluent English.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable working with complexity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Result oriented. Strong drive to perform and make things happen.
  • Able to speak up and take ownership of situation involving large number of stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player, able to collaborate with colleagues across different functions.
  • Process improvement and cost focused mindset.
