    Beskrivelse

At Genmab, we're committed to building extra[not]ordinary futures together, by developing antibody products and pioneering, knock-your-socks-off therapies that change the lives of patients and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. From our people who are caring, candid, and impact-driven to our business, which is innovative and rooted in science, we believe that being proudly unique, determined to be our best, and authentic is essential to fulfilling our purpose.

    The role
Genmab is currently seeking a (Senior) Scientist in Discovery Data Science based in Utrecht, the Netherlands or in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is a highly collaborative role between the Data Science team, experimentalists, and academic key opinion leaders.

You will work in a multidisciplinary, international team of world-class scientists with top-tier knowledge of the antibody and oncology field, with the goal of bringing new, groundbreaking antibody therapeutics to the clinic. We leverage a closed loop of state-of-the-art high-throughput assays and machine learning to advance our understanding of cancer and the effect of our molecules. Dry- and wet-lab researchers collaborate towards defining project questions, discussing methodology, designing experiments, assessing results, modeling data and validating predictions. Projects involve computational structure-based protein and antibody engineering,

Genmab places a high value on new, transformational data science approaches to enhance our drug discovery and development efforts. As a (Senior) Scientist in the Discovery Data Science team, you will get the unique opportunity to make an impact on the development of ground-breaking new medicines to serve cancer patients with unmet medical needs. In addition, as a fully integrated biotech company, Genmab will give you the chance to experience drug development from discovery to translation into the clinic.

    Responsibilities

    • You will work closely with data scientists and wet-lab antibody engineers to optimize experimental designs and data-generating assays feeding machine learning models.
    • You will train and validate deep learning models, experimenting with diverse architectures, parameters and datasets, to achieve top predictive performance for antibody properties.
    • You are granted substantial independence in the execution of individual tasks, formulating next steps, reporting results on a regular basis and meeting deadlines.
    • You break down biological questions in smaller tasks, prioritizing the most insightful activities first and refining details later.
    • You are well-aware of the biological context of projects and can provide biological interpretations of your results to teams with diverse scientific backgrounds.
    • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills to productively contribute to large, multidisciplinary projects in a multicultural team, all while valuing positive attitude and well-being in the workplace.
    • You are responsible for the visualization of complex results, turning highly technical concepts into intuitive explanations that can be presented to a diverse scientific audience.
    • You report scientific results in patents, publications, and regulatory documents.

    Requirements

    • You hold a PhD in computational biology, machine learning, artificial intelligence, structural biology, bioinformatics, biophysics or related fields.
    • You bring either strong Machine Learning or Structural Biology expertise (preferably both):
      • ML: you are familiar with popular deep learning architectures, such as transformers and graph neural networks, and routinely work with PyTorch.
      • Structural biology: you have robust formal training and work experience in tasks such as docking, energy estimation, homology modeling, molecular dynamics, and are familiar with tools such as Rosetta, Bioluminate, MOE, pymol, AlphaFold2, ProteinMPNN.
    • You code proficiently in Python.
    • You have a solid statistical foundation.
    • You are familiar with version control system such as Git.

    • To be considered for a Senior role, the following additional requirements apply:
      • You have at least 3 years of academic postdoc and/or industrial experience in training machine learning models on biological datasets, preferably for protein engineering.
      • You published in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences.

    Nice to have:

    • Familiarity with antibody biology.
    • Experience with MLOps platforms, such as MLflow, and popular ML frameworks, such as PyTorch Lightning and Ray.
    • Working knowledge of cloud computing environments such as AWS or Databricks.
    • Experience with next-generation sequencing analysis tools, methods and pipelines.

    About You
