Postdoc in Pharmacometrics, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Pharmacovigilanceat the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology [closing 15.12.2020] (BB-AB537)
Found in: Neuvoo DK
Description:
We have a 6 months position available as a postdoc working on the project entitled “ Pharmacometrics-based clustering for Pharmacoepidemiological risk stratification in real-world evidence for drugs with a narrow therapeutic index: a data science approach ” funded by Helsefonden.
The position is at the University of Copenhagen, within the Department of Drug Design, and Pharmacology and affiliated with the Pharmacovigilance Research Center, but will collaborate with the Pharmacometrics group as the project lies in the interface between the two research fields.
The project
This project aims to adapt, integrate and combine pharmacokinetic modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence from data science and epidemiological reasoning from pharmacoepidemiology to improve the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of drug safety/effectiveness surveillance of drugs with a narrow therapeutic index. It will pose the cornerstone for developing new methodologies for the identification of patients’ subgroups at high risk of adverse drug reactions (including therapeutic failure). The project will pose the conceptual foundation for investigating data dimensions not previously explored in pharmacoepidemiology and will represent a unique opportunity for testing the applicability and feasibility of this new research area in real-world scenarios.
The position
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher, to commence 1 March 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
You will contribute to the development of pharmacokinetic models for predicting plasma concentration based on patients’ characteristics for selected drugs with a narrow therapeutic index. The predicted plasma concentration will be used to predict the prognosis and the hazard for cause-specific hospitalisation in Danish registers. The position will involve interdisciplinary collaborations with pharmacoepidemiologists and pharmacometricians.
