About the Role
IDC Europe is looking for a Research Manager to head up our analytics industry research programme, and to make a significant contribution to custom market consulting projects. The person we seek will contribute thought-leadership on the Analytics and Big Data market, engage with customers and prospects for our products and services, and contribute to IDC global research initiatives. You will work with colleagues researching adjacent areas such as AI, enterprise applications, cloud computing, and digital marketing.
We qualify and define the need for Analytics and Big Data: Those numbers you see quoted in the media about data growth, market shares, and future forecasts? They are most likely from IDC.
We have a loyal client base and a healthy and ongoing work stream with technology vendors and users relating to the marketing, use and governance of business analytics technologies.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to IDC's European Analytics and Big Data research programme and consulting projects.

This position calls for an individual with excellent communication, presentation and writing skills, allied to good numeric and analytic skills. We seek a quick and creative thinker with deep curiosity about developments in the IT market, someone who is happy to work as part of a team or alone, depending on project size.

To succeed at IDC, you will need to be:
Training in relevant vocational skills, such as presenting, writing and running workshops, is regularly offered by IDC to all staff as well as training in IDC tools and methods relevant to the role.
The position will be located in one of IDC's major West Europe research centres: London, Frankfurt, Milan, or Copenhagen. Occasional travel will be expected, within Europe and to the US, once current restrictions start to be lifted.
