Then this is a great opportunity for you.The System Design department is the competence centre for evaluation and modelling of technical solutions across the entire energy system design (offshore wind farms and other technologies like hydrogen). The System Design department is responsible for further expanding and operating the 100% in-house developed model suite we use to assess and evaluate the design of our future offshore wind farms, utilizing advanced mathematical optimization techniques, co-simulation of multiparameter physical models and mastering the full complexity and impacts of such a design considering the full life time of the wind farms. Our team has been at the heart of the winning tenders in Hollandse Kust Zuid 1+2 and 3+4, driving the industry to the first zero-subsidy wind farm in the world. Main tasks include Aided with a best in class model framework, you will navigate through the millions of possible combinations of components, methods and approaches, to narrow the solution space down to a few optimal wind farms designs – the ones that have the highest potential for future wind parks. Work closely with the Roadmap teams and Technical Project Managers to define the solution space for future offshore wind farms to ensure a continuous drive for Vattenfall to be leader in LEC (Levelized Energy Cost). Establish and coordinate a transparent, efficient and consistent reporting approach of the development in LEC reductions across our wind farm portfolio and the value of applied technologies. You will work closely together with modelling experts, and your work will drive the direction of our wind farm designs and guide our business decisions, as well as making credible pre-evaluation of new technologies on product, system and park level. What we are asking Engineering Master’s degree (or equal) with a relevant scope such as wind engineering, applied mathematics or physics. Experience with the complex design of a windfarms and energy systems is a plus, but depending on the candidate not an absolute must. Strong analytical mind, that on one side can dig deep into advanced modelling methods and on the other side understands the business impact of the results and see the bigger picture. Great communication skills; being able to communicate a technically complex message to a wide audience of stakeholders. You are fluent in English. Previous experience: We will consider both junior candidates with 0-3 years experience, and more experienced candidates for the role. We will scope the specific role based on the selected candidate’s skills and experiences.
