Job title: Reliability Engineer

Organizational chart: Reports to Engineering, Maintenance & EHS manager

Responsabilities:

Supports Engineering activities regarding implementation of the CMMS system and improvement in the Maintenance Area.

Main Duties

  • Become SME of the future site´s CMMS building up the data required for its implementation:
  • Maintenance of facilities, utilities and equipment on site.
  • Spare parts management.
  • Calibration Management
  • Responsible for coaching & executing the Preventive Maintenance strategy for the site.
  • Interact with multiple sites to implement best practices for Maintenance.
  • Collaboration in the definition of the site Maintenance KPIs.
  • Work with managers effectively to execute the policies and goals of the organization.
  • Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities and materials.
  • Recommend improvements and desirable modifications in methods, procedures, processes, equipment and layout.
  • Stay current on developments in the field of Equipment & Reliability and ALK Standards.
  • Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.
  • Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits.
  • Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required.
  • Participate in site Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams, who address specific problems, facilitate discussion and research, enabling procedures to become more efficient, and to build and enhance interdepartmental relationships.
  • Adhere to all ALK safety guidelines and procedures

  • Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Packaging equipment, utilities and systems.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulations, standard operating procedures, and industry practice.
  • Competencies

    Education

  • Degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical/Electrical)

    Experience

  • 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical Maintenance and Engineering practices.
  • CMMS knowledge.
  • Root cause analysis knowledge.
  • Proven Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrated time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience developing and managing PM systems
  • Functional knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and lean maintenance methodologies
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software applications; project management software and CAD software.
  • Competence overview

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
