What we are looking for

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who is ready to take on the challenge of a leading role in a growing engineering team. You’re a great developer with excellent people skills. You are either already a technical lead in a fast-moving, agile engineering team - or aspiring to take the next step up in your career.

You are passionate about building great software for scale, automated testing, clean code and sharing best practices. You can lead the way and set the technical path for our future needs. In addition you probably have:

  • Solid Node.js experience.
  • Deep understanding of the full stack of technologies used in a web application.
  • Good understanding of DevOps, QA and test automation.
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers and orchestration.
  • A degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    What you will do

    As our new Senior Backend Engineer, you will be working in a cross-functional team of highly skilled and dedicated people to deliver solutions and services to our enterprise customers. In collaboration with the rest of the senior engineering team you will set the direction for our architecture and the way we build, run and deploy our services and APIs.

    You will be responsible for the execution and overall quality of the technical deliveries of the team. In close collaboration with the product manager and the rest of the team, you will find the right technical approach to deliver the solutions needed to achieve the team objectives and our ambitious goals as a company. Your tasks will include:

  • Provide technical leadership inside your squad.
  • Design and plan architecture to build stable and scalable software.
  • Develop high-level system design and low level technical design.
  • Contribute to product discovery in the team to identify feasible, high-impact solutions to the team objectives.
  • Help prioritise engineering projects against business targets and evaluate what can be executed with the available resources.
  • Develop backend application code for our platform and products.
  • Work with DevOps team-members to ensure continued stability and performance.
  • Coach and mentor the developers in your team.
  • Initiate, implement and develop creative and innovative engineering processes and practices.
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to push capabilities forward.
  • Develop and maintain methodologies of iteratively deploying our cloud-based solutions.
  • Document processes and practices you establish.
