About the Team:

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders that create expert research while bringing best practices, and research models to life across a broad range of world leading organizations. An Analyst is a trusted source of advice and deepens personal value for clients every day by providing high quality, timely insight and must-have research; content that is provocative as well as pragmatic. Our Analysts meet with clients daily, via virtual meetings, face-to-face interactions at Gartner events, or at sales support visits to develop and promote clear vision for the evolving markets at the local, regional and global levels. These interactions help clients reach better decisions, solve complex issues and create solutions that lead to better performance and successful outcomes. To support these conversations you will research markets, practices and trends as well as produce written research for Gartner clients to download and apply.

Responsibilities:  

- Conduct innovative, fast-based, must-have research and analysis around clients’ key initiatives and specific areas of expertise targeting client’s most pressing initiatives in the following subject areas:

  • Future of CSPs (Communications Service Providers):

    industry transformation vision, key uncertainties and impact on digital transformation

    digital transformation execution (how to make the transition to a Digital Services Company)

    key drivers of growth and emerging relationships with others in the industry (suppliers, partners), impact of industrial ecosystem development

    likely business & operating models and industry structure, M&A in CSP industry, required capabilities for success, innovation, competitive differentiation

    business initiatives assessment best practices/approaches, time2market best practices

  • Revenue growth and strategic options to capture market (IoT, 5G, Private networks, Telco Edge, non core services, etc.), CSP broad enterprise services market opportunities

  • CSPs and Ecosystems: how to capitalize on ecosystems for success, how to build and manage ecosystem, ecosystem strategy

  • Managing and disrupting the market landscape. Coopetition/Competition from Hyperscalers, SIs, OTT, Non Regulated Networks (CBRS, WiFi), new market entrants, Disruptive strategies, technologies, enablers, greenfield CSPs

  • Research should support CSPs technology strategists (CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, I&O leaders), CSP product leaders, and Technology and service providers selling to CSPs

  • - Remain ahead of the curve on developments within these specified areas, as well as applicable adjacent areas

    - Predict how specific markets are developing, and help clients in their selection process and assist vendors in overall market positioning

    - Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts

    - Write high quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” documents

    - Respond to client questions, create materials for and deliver to clients in person, via teleconference, video conference or webinar and event presentations

    - Proactively support Advisory, Research Engagement Services (RES), Sales and Service and other internal stakeholders across relevant research key initiatives and on client calls

    - Proactively work with the wider sales organization and service partners to drive proactive engagement and help clients/prospects make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business

    - Create and deliver high value presentations and other materials at Gartner conferences, and in small groups of clients and/or prospects

    - Provide high quality and timely research peer review

    - Build credibility as an industry leader to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy 

    - Lead or participate in research community meetings to discuss research issues and collaborate effectively with peers

    - Support more junior team members’ development through mentorship and coaching

    Qualifications: 

    - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred

    - 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience

    - Ability to work independently and as a team player, supporting the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team

    - Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality material

    - Strong written and verbal interaction, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions

    - Demonstrated superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions

    - Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks to client challenges and demonstrate learning agility

    - Strong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply

    - Strong business and financial acumen 

    - Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within subject area as well as the interplay in that market

    - Demonstrated excellence in research and writing ability

    - Demonstrated executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders

    - Great team player with intrinsic motivation to collaborate with peers to write provocative and pragmatic research notes

    - Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements 

    - Flexible thinker adept at change and experienced navigating highly matrixed environments

    - Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels of client organizations

    - Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
