The Computer Science Department at IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) invites highly motivated individuals to apply for a fully funded PhD position or a 2-year PostDoc position in Data Systems supervised by Associate Professor Pınar Tözün and Professor Philippe Bonnet. The ideal starting date is September 2021 or soon thereafter.
The candidate will focus on cutting-edge research within data systems focusing on exploiting emerging storage technologies and computational storage for data-intensive systems as well as locality-aware scheduling for data-intensive tasks.
The position is fully funded as part of the DAPHNE project (https://daphne-eu.github.io/) granted by H2020 Information and Communication Technologies. The project consortium is led by TU Graz (Austria) and includes international participants from HPI (Germany), TU Dresden (Germany), ETH Zurich (Switzerland), University of Basel (Switzerland), etc. in addition to IT University of Copenhagen.

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a teaching and research-based tertiary institution concerned with information technology (IT) and the opportunities it offers. Research and teaching in information technology span all academic activities, which involve computers including computer science, information and media sciences, humanities and social sciences, business impact and the commercialization of IT.
Successful applicants will be employed and enrolled at ITU for a period of 3 or 4 years depending on the university degree level of the applicant.
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The applicant will be assessed according to the Appointment Order from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of 13 March 2012.
