The Role

As Genmab's IPR department continue to grow, we are looking for a Team Lead, Senior Patent Administrator to be a part of our Intellectual Property Rights department at our headquarters in Copenhagen. 

As Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a small group of Patent Administrators and handling all patent-related administrative tasks for part of Genmab's patent portfolio. You will work in collaboration with the rest of the IPR Department and in close connection with researchers, agencies and authorities.

The position reports to Senior Director, Head of IPR.


Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

Managing and supporting a team of two Patent Administrators and a Student Worker.

Actively optimize work processes within the patent administrator group and assist with optimization of work processes with the IPR department.

Docketing including updating our due date database. 

Handle formalities associated with patent filings, correspondence with the EPO and PCT, 30 months continuations, EP validations, SPC/PTE filings, assignments, IDS, annuities etc.

Communication with foreign patent law firms.


Assist with invoicing and preparation of budgets.

Proof-reading patent claims and responses for the patent authorities.

Assist with competitor surveillances.

Perform different ad-hoc tasks relevant to the IPR department.


You have a relevant educational background, e.g., a BA in Business Language, MSc in Library Science, or librarian.

Please note we accept candidates from a broad range of backgrounds with the right experience.

You have at least 8-10 years' experience as a Patent Administrator.

You preferably have the title of QIPA.

You preferably have experience managing and/or mentoring others. 

An excellent understanding of the procedures and formalities related to patent work. 

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
