We are recruiting for an experienced SEE/CEE Power Trader to join our team helping us generate further value though capacity trading and outright curve. Experience in and good understanding of the Hungarian market will be an advantage.

This role will be based in Aalborg (Denmark).

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the trading activities of the Power Cross Border Department, ensuring delivery of PNL targets, within the scope of power trading
  • Making trading decisions on everything from daily cross-border flows, capacities, to short term front year
  • Manage risks through position management, hedging and execution of trading instruments
  • Support the decision-making around initiation of innovative, new growth business lines or products within the scope of trading areas.
  • Accurate and timely trade reporting, transaction initiation, and position management
  • Developing concepts, seizing the opportunity, understanding the risks/rewards, designing delivery, analyzing financials/economics and creating and executing on full launch trading ideas
  • Ensure trading strategies for specific market areas is regularly updated in cooperation with cross border & cross quant team
  • Help analyse, select, enter and develop new markets of trading
  • Participate in the Power Cross Border Department shift roster.
  • To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Experience in the European Power trading markets
  • Knowledge and understanding of the European Energy Complex
  • Highly numerate with significant experience dealing with numerical complexity
  • Ideally possess coding experience within Python or R
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with experience running and implementing complex and data intensive projects
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate quantitative problems to business language and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well balanced commercial aptitude and quantitative/technical know-how, creativity and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to influence teams to drive results
  • Ability and desire to expand business into new Markets
  • Ability to take calculated trading decisions and stick to risk-management guidelines
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong potential and evidence of continuous improvement and learning.
