Join UCB: An exciting time to join a great team. To strengthen our European Access Team , we are looking for a talented, experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of: EU Access Solution Lead - Immunology .


As the EU Access Solution Lead, you will play a vital role in overseeing overseeing the operationalization of the global market access strategy for an asset or a specific patient population in the EU areas, at national and subnational level, as well as collecting areas access needs and insights to feed global access strategy.

  • Collaborate with country access teams to identify opportunities and challenges, adopting risk mitigation approaches to co-create impactful solutions to enhance patient access across Europe
  • Work closely with affiliates to create Value Propositions for payers in differing archetypes, including HEOR models and innovative VBA/contracting solutions
  • Foster best practices to localise the global value story adhering to local business needs
  • Work effectively with the EU Access & External Engagement Team and Immunology Strategic Operations Team in supporting the EU Immunology Access and Pricing Head
  • You will contribute by:

  • Defining the market based around patient needs, validating new drivers to shape and grow the brand lifecycle strategy and deliver long-term objectives
  • Aligning the Immunology Market Access Strategy, ensuring strategic alignment between global and local Market Access teams
  • Developing global value material such as Payer Value Propositions, Global Value Dossiers (GVD), Economic models in line with market access and the wider medical and commercial strategy
  • Providing support to local teams and engaging cross functionally with a platform of Payer Value solutions that can be adapted at national, sub-nation or local account level
  • Acting as a key point of contact within Immunology and Strategic Operations, representing EU Access
  • Fostering excellence in launch execution ensuring critical tools and support are in place for a successful launch including; Value communication toolkits, Access Strategy related trainings, Negotiation Strategy Playbook, Operational plans and the implementation of Access Strategies across UCB
  • Enhance the EU Brand Planning (Patient Value Brand Plan) working synergistically with the Strategic Operations team
  • Providing support to local teams in building new competencies (HEOR) and coaching around negotiation skills
  • Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Proven track record within a Market Access within a Pharmaceutical company at a European level
  • Strong understanding of European healthcare systems and payer archetypes (factors driving access in the different countries); with deep knowledge of the EU5 / EU Health-Ecosystem
  • Proven expertise to translate strategy into actionable tactics in the EU 5 Health care Ecosystems
  • Excellence in value communication (Scientific and/or payer communication)
  • Strong operational skills: supporting and challenging countries regarding market access objective setting and support local implementation of asset access strategy
  • Life science education background preferable
  • Knowledge in UCB’s therapeutic areas – Dermatology/ Rheumatology 
  • Experience within Health Policy, Health economics, Pricing and Reimbursement is advantageous
  • Strong analytical capabilities of understanding and strategizing clinical data, biostatistics and interpreting clinical outcomes
  • Ability to work independently to lead complex projects 
  • Strong influencing, networking and transversal collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiating, and interpersonal skills for a wide variety of audiences 
  • Display excellent business judgement that strongly connect to UCB's core values and beliefs
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal
