    Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Modularized Nacelle, as part of Aerodynamic & Mechanical. Our department, Modularized Nacelle, has sites in Denmark, Portugal, and India.

    Responsibilities
    Join a dedicated team of Engineers and Specialists overseeing the Next Generation Nacelle structure's design and integrity. Your duties will encompass various complexities, primarily focusing on designing and optimizing components.
    A typical workflow includes:

  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to clarify design requirements
  • Defining and designing interfaces with other systems. Developing design specifications from top-level to building block levels
  • Ensuring functionality aligns with value chain perspectives
  • Assessing design performance, reliability, and lifetime estimates based on data
  • Identifying and mitigating design risks and safety concerns
  • Collaborating with experts in different engineering disciplines such as structures, electrical, loads, and control
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the design
  • To address the ongoing challenge of designing larger and more intricate wind turbine structures within tighter time and cost constraints, you are encouraged to bring innovation and constructive skepticism to our planning and execution processes.
    Above all, you are expected to work as an integral part of the team, sharing knowledge, successes, and failures to contribute to a unified unit

    Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined relevant experience in the following areas: Design and development of dynamic mechanical systems Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), such as Ansys Skilled in coding within a common scripting language, such as Python or MATLAB Comprehensive understanding of static and dynamic behavior of mechanical structures
  • Experience in Systems Engineering (beneficial)
  • Prior experience in wind turbine design and 3rd party certification (beneficial)
  • Familiarity with modular product development
  • Proficiency in Project Management
  • Competencies

  • Attention to detail in software tool utilization and workflow processes
  • Ability to devise innovative solutions for analysis challenges, introducing new tools and processes
  • Creative mindset for solving complex engineering problems
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, for engaging with stakeholders
  • Motivated and clear sense of responsibility
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) and proficiency in JIRA
  • Background in project management or business education/experience in large corporate organizations
