- Document, deploy and support the integration of automation products with other products, assets and systems and you maintain a consistent deployment approach across all relevant sites reporting any related challenges to the Project Manager.
- Support in the deployment process from roadmap creation to go-live and finally stable operations, defining deployment specific performance criteria and ongoing feedback related to deployment status and technical challenges/issues.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to continuously improve ongoing work and deployment approach.
- Collect and review all relevant technical documentation from the terminal/suppliers and follow up on or request for improvements as needed.
- Ensure that the technical documentation is updated and available for all stakeholders
- Oversee technical site works conducted by suppliers and you provide support if and as needed in consultation with the Project Manager.

We are now looking for a Deployment Engineer to join our team. It's an exciting time to join APM Terminals We have an extensive and innovative 5-year strategy in the Modernization Program where we want to modernize and upgrade our current operations, improve safety and business results by rolling out market leading solutions for our operational equipment and processes. We are now taking next step – and you can be a part of it Working together with a highly skilled project team, it is your mission to ensure everything goes according to plan and without local business disruption by aligning global, cross-functional product definitions with terminal specific conditions.
As Deployment Engineer for our current modernization deployments in APMT Aarhus, you'll be responsible for driving the end-to-end onsite technical automation product deployment process: from site preparation to installation and commissioning, integration and live equipment testing. You'll provide technical expertise and be the coordinator between global technical experts and within the project team to effectively implement the given product in the terminal operations according to plan and without local business disruption. You'll support the team and the Project Manager in resolving any related challenges on a day-to-day basis, including synergies with parallel deployments within our APMT Nordics organization.

Drive the product discovery process from developing a profound understanding of customer needs to bringing the product into life
Provide regular demonstrations of the products to Project Manager and other stakeholders
Work closely with Ops and QA reps within the deployment team to integrate technical deliverables with Ops (e.g. use cases) and QA (e.g. testing process and tools) as well as with the global product team to ensure product integrity
Be a part of defining and relevant testing milestones and aligning on the outcomes
Support with onboarding and training of newcomers to the team
Continuously monitor and report on all deployment related risks and opportunities to Project Manager
Creation and execution of testcases set up by the team via Jira.
Ensure proper test planning and making sure that suppliers are following the test plan.
We are looking for
We are open minded about your industry background but having automation experience in working within transport, logistics and distribution centres or port/container terminals/equipment is an advantage. Experience from a container terminal is also an advantage. If you have in depth knowledge of the daily operation of a container terminal as well as the Terminal Operating System this is an advantage.
You have professional expertise and deep technical knowledge that allows you to help deploying industrial automation solutions involving hands-on control systems and instrumentation in the field.
If you can design and implement operational technology infrastructure for automation systems and knowledge of end-to-end automation solution control: From strategy and procedure development to testing, implementation and integration it is an advantage.
You have the ability to drive projects on your own and make sure that schedule and budget is followed and all relevant stakeholders are involved. The ability to involve stakeholders in a timely manner and making sure that good technical solutions are designed combined with the ability to design tests, processes and documentation is key to be successful in this role.
Additionally, you have a can-do mentality, and you are able to solve complex problems on a daily basis and in a structured manner by generating, evaluating and implementing solutions.
