Eric Bautista

I have always been motivated to contribute to the improvement of people's quality of life by doing research and applying the newest available bioinformatic tools to that purpose. 

Joining research laboratories has given me insight into how academic research operates while I developed new valuable skills, such as programming, data analysis, molecular cloning and teamwork. 

I believe multidisciplinary teams provide the perfect environment for the emergence of new ideas. Thus, I am really enthusiastic about joining one and putting into practice my abilities to reach my ultimate goal: contributing to the future of health technology.

1.Research Assistant (thesis collaboration)

Areas of responsibility:

• NGS variant calling optimization.
• Benchmarking study of mappers & aligners.
• Statistical analysis using Python.
• Programming in Python, R and Bash applied to bioinformatics.

Results:

• Best mapper to implement in a new CRISPR analytical tool.
• BSc Human Biology thesis grade: 9.5/10.
